I help leaders, teams, and athletic programs win the right way—by winning through people.

As the founder of Game On Coaching, I work with executives, emerging leaders, organizations, and athletic programs to develop leaders, strengthen culture, and build high-performing teams. My approach starts from the inside out: we focus on self-awareness, mindset, and growth as the foundation for better leadership and better results.

My own leadership journey runs through West Point and the U.S. Army, 30+ years as an operations executive, and a lifetime in competitive sports. I’ve served as a U.S. Army officer, led large operations organizations at the executive level, competed as a member of the U.S. National Team Handball Team, and coached more than 80 youth sports teams.

Those experiences taught me that the true measure of a leader or coach isn’t just the scoreboard—it’s what becomes of their people. My goal is to help leaders develop the competence and confidence of those they serve, create more leaders, and build teams that win the right way.

My Mission

I believe every person has greatness within them.

My mission with Game On Coaching is to help uncover, develop, and capitalize on that inherent greatness so we can spread transformational leadership and build high- performing teams that win the right way. I work with executives, aspiring leaders, corporate organizations, nonprofits, and athletic programs to create sustainable high-performing cultures, build strong teams that deliver exceptional results, and develop an ongoing pipeline of leaders who put people first and lead the right way.

How I Help Leaders and Teams

Through one-on-one coaching and a wide range of workshops, I help individuals and teams elevate their performance by starting from the inside out.

We focus first on growing self-awareness and fostering internal growth as the foundation for becoming better leaders. Tools and frameworks matter—and I bring plenty of them to the table—but the real journey of leadership and high-performing teams must begin internally.

My Leadership Journey

My own leadership path has been shaped by a deep background in leading teams and developing people. I graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point and served as an Army officer for five years before moving into the corporate world. Over the next 30+ years running operations organizations at the executive level, I consistently achieved transformational results by committing to develop people and create more leaders, not just manage processes.

What I Believe About Leadership

I believe the primary responsibility of a leader is to develop the competence and confidence of their team members and to create more leaders. I don’t believe happiness shows up after you become successful; I believe happiness and positivity are precursors to success. When you believe in yourself, follow your passions, and pursue your dreams with intention, you dramatically increase your odds of meaningful success. Great leaders serve others. They understand that leadership is not about them, but about the people they are privileged to lead.

Sports and Coaching: Where My Philosophy Was Forged

A great deal of my leadership philosophy was forged through competitive sports.

I was a three-sport athlete in high school, played football in college, and later became a member of the United States National Team Handball Team, earning a bronze medal in the Pan American Games. As a parent, I coached more than 80 youth sports teams while my children were growing up. Those experiences taught me a lot about how to reach people, build teams, and bring out the best in others.

My father was a high school coach and kept a plaque on his wall that read:

“The true testament of a coach is not measured by their wins and losses, but by what becomes of their players.”

That idea has shaped my life and my work. It’s the philosophy I strive to live by every day.

Family &

What Matters Most

On the personal side, I’m the proud father of five fantastic adult children who are clearly the product of a great mother. I’ve been happily married for 40 years to my wife, Patty (a saint), and we currently live in Virginia. My family and my faith are my top priorities.
